I’ve spent £12k turning my face into a puzzle – I don’t want to look human’

Black Depression, 28, from Germany, says he wants to look “as inhuman as possible” and has spent more than £12,000 modifying his body in different ways

A man who wants to look “as inhuman as possible” has spent more than £12,000 turning himself into a “puzzle.”

The b ody modification enthusiast, who goes by the name Black Depression, has tattoos of puzzle pieces all over his face.

The “human puzzle” from the Ore Mountains in Germany has spent a total of £12,500 (€15,000) on his bizarre look.

As well as his facial tattoo which features coloured in and outlined puzzle pieces, the 28-year-old has also had chunks of cartilage removed from his ear.

He has had both earlobes and nostrils pierced and stretched, and had the whites of his eyeballs inked with a jet black shade.

The German artist has also had both rows of his teeth crowned in titanium.

“Body modification has fascinated me for many years. I can do my individual thing, not the same as what others do,” he said.

“I can create and change my body as I would like it to be. I don’t follow a trend like many other people.

“Over the years I developed my own trend, which nobody else wears. I go to different body mod artists around the world, and I also perform some procedures on myself.”

Black Depression first began his transformation eight years ago when he was just 20 years old in a tongue splitting procedure.

“My first procedure was to split my tongue. Then half of my auricle [visible portion of external ear] was amputated on both sides,” he explained.

But while his look turns heads wherever he goes, Black Depression isn’t finished with his body modification journey yet, and he’s planning on having even more extreme procedures done in future.

He shares his body modification journey on Instagram where fascinated onlookers comment on his puzzling tattoos.

Whereas some people describe his tattoos as “hot and cool,” others are lost for words.

A Brazilian body modification enthusiast made headlines last year when he revealed he was dubbed a “human satan.”

Michel Faro do Prado, 44, who has been a tattoo artist for 25 years, had silicone horns put into his head and even had his ring finger removed to transform his body.

He also had tusks implanted into his gums to make himself look less human.

He said: “But if I have to feel pain, to achieve what I want, for sure I will face it!”
